The World Gem Foundation is a non-profit organization that was formed in 2015 with the mandate to provide quality and affordable gemmological training to students, jewellers and professional gemmologists.
Currently consisting of thirteen national and regional gem academies in the United Kingdom, Holland, Scandinavia (Norway, Sweden, Finland, Denmark and Iceland), Spain, Kenya, Democratic Republic of Congo, West Africa (Benin, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, The Gambia, Ghana, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, Ivory Coast, Liberia, Mali, Mauritania, Niger, Nigeria, Senegal, Sierra Leone and Togo), the U.S, Canada, India, Central America (Mexico, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, El Salvador, Costa Rica and Panama), South America (Brazil, Argentina, Bolivia, Chile, Colombia, Ecuador, Paraguay, Peru, Uruguay, Venezuela, Guyana and Suriname) and the Caribbean (Cuba, Puerto Rico, Haiti and the Dominican Republic), we plan to establish more academies around the world before the end of 2019.
Through our network of registered academies, students can now study gemmology through the World Gem Foundation and have their accomplishments and achievements acknowledged and recognized worldwide.
With our flexible study schedule, three diploma programs (Career Gemmologist, Diamond Professional & Coloured Gemstone Professional) and courses ranging from basic through advanced gemmology to gem identification, diamonds and coloured gemstones, the World Gem Foundation will help you meet the needs and demands of our ever-changing industry.
Cristina Rzepka de Lombas is a geologist, gemmologist, appraiser of gemstones and jewellery and an expert in diamond and coloured gemstone grading.
Currently Cristina serves on the Board of Directors of the Instituto Gemológico Español (IGE) in Madrid, Spain where she also teaches their ‘Gems of Organic Origin’ course.
